The sale of electric-driven machinery will overtake petrol-driven machinery in 2020

The Swedish company completes its range of lawnmowers with the Automower 305, a model that stands out for its connectivity and performance

Ordes, January 2020. Over 90% of the new additions to the Husqvarna catalogue 2020 are battery operated. The Swedish firm has taken a further step in its commitment to sustainability and respect for environment and all indications suggest that the sale of electric-driven machinery will overtake petrol-driven machinery this year. Consequently, the company will focus on the advantages of electric-driven machinery, which improves performance and leads to a reduction in emissions and noise.

The sale of battery-operated products has been growing steadily over the last few years. As a result, the distribution of this type of machinery by the Group has gone from 17% in 2016 to 32% in 2019. Estimates indicate that sales in 2020 will exceed 40%, thus overtaking petrol-driven products.

In order to strengthen the increasingly consolidated trend towards the use of clean energies and boost the functionality and performance of electric-driven machinery, Husqvarna is offering users new, more powerful batteries with greater battery life.

To present its objectives for 2020, the Nordic company, through Internaco (its distributor for Spain and Portugal), has held five presentations in Madrid, Saragosa, Seville, Lugo and Viseu, which were attended by some 600 dealers.

Innovation

One of the greatest novelties of Husqvarna for 2020 is the Automower 305. Designed for the care of gardens up to 1,000 square metres, it completes a range of thirteen models in which the Swedish model is a world’s leader. Husqvarna’s automatic lawn mowers stand out for their connectivity and performance as they can be remotely operated through the Automower Connect App and are just another example of the commitment to innovation and cutting-edge technologies aimed at meeting the needs of users.

2020 will also see the opening of new business opportunities. Indeed, a specific department will address the world of golf, a sport with over 270,000 licences and which requires a professional approach in order to maintain golf courses. It is for this reason that Husqvarna has placed particular emphasis on aspects such as irrigation and specific mowers.
