The two Automower® 550 Husqvarna supplied by DavideMag Ltd. will mean that the club will be using the same maintenance system as French Paris Saint Germain
Amares, 8 July 2020. Portuguese football club Amares has acquired two latest-generation robotic lawn mowers to maintain the pitch at Engenheiro José Carlos Macedo Stadium. The two Husqvarna Automower® 550 units will allow the club to use the same lawn care system already used by leading French clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Guingamp.
The Automower® 550 units, supplied by DavideMag Ltd. —Husqvarna’s dealer in the area—, can operate on areas of up to 5,000 square metres. They are battery-powered and produce no direct CO₂ emissions during use. They also feature technologies including GPS-assisted navigation, smartphone configuration and a weather timer. In addition, they offer remote object detection and can operate on slopes of up to 45%.
Olivier Silva, President of FC Amares, said that “Paris Saint-Germain and Guingamp have some of the best playing surfaces in France, so acquiring the two new robots has been worthwhile”. The acquisition of the Husqvarna lawn mowers will also allow the club to reduce costs related to water, electricity and fertilisers.
