The Ourense Province Climbers’ Club-Association (ASESOU) put 30 new birds’ nests in place as part of a children’s activity at the Cachamuiña reservoir (Pereiro de Aguiar).

30 children from the province took part in the activity, which was attended by the mayor of Pereiro de Aguiar, Luis Menor.

Ordes, 17 October 2022.- Last Sunday, a group of 30 children and 20 adults took a very special walk around the Cachamuiña dam, in the Pereiro de Aguiar district of Ourense province. The aim of the excursion was to set up 30 nests – donated to ASESOU by Husqvarna through their official Spanish distributor, the Internaco Group – to encourage more birds to make their home this season.

On this occasion, Luis Menor, the mayor of Pereiro de Aguiar, also took part in the activity, joining the group on their walk to set up new nests and recondition and clean those built by the Club in 2020.

The morning – marked by the participants’ surprise at how successfully the existing nests had attracted different specie – ended with an enjoyable picnic at a spot close to the course of the river, where the children shared details of their feats after a hike through Os Muiños de Loña.

Between 50 and 70 people regularly take part in these activities, organised by ASESOU, which intend to preserve local flora and fauna and raise awareness amongst younger generations of the importance of caring for the ecosystem.

To this end, Internaco and Husqvarna decided to participate in this project, as they work to promote respect for and conservation of the environment. The activity also aimed to bring people closer to nature by creating green spaces, allowing them to thrive whilst minimising their impact on land, water and air. With its Sustainovation Hub Forest & Garden – an innovation laboratory specialised in forests and gardens as part of its I+D and CSR policies – the Internaco Group promotes sustainability.
