The El Sabio shop located until now in the Madrid municipality of Getafe is moving to the Európolis shopping centre in the north of Madrid, changing its name and adding the Husqvarna brand into its product portfolio

“The new location will allow us to reach new market niches that we didn’t have access to until now,” says the store manager, Rubén Rodríguez.
Ordes (A Coruña), 16 February 2023.– The owners of El Sabio Getafe, Rubén Rodríguez and Yolanda Peña, have decided to move premises to the north of Madrid for commercial, operational and logistical reasons. The new store, called El Sabio Alyxmer, has now opened its doors in the Európolis shopping centre in Las Rozas.
Yolanda and Rubén, whose business is affiliated with the El Sabio brand, started their venture in Getafe in July 2021. A year and a half later, the shop’s evolution and customer base has led them to move to the north of the Madrid Region.
A more favourable location
“By adding the Husqvarna brand into our product catalogue, our focus is now more on forest, garden and watering ranges, so in this sense, our new location is a better fit, since Las Rozas and its surroundings have a large number of houses with land and there are more garden areas,” says Rubén.
At the same time, “we will have a good number of professional customers as well as individuals, and logistically, the Európolis shopping centre is more convenient and attractive for working in this market niche.”
The main novelty compared to the Getafe shop is that El Sabio Alyxmer is now an official Husqvarna distributor, which is why Rubén Rodríguez, who runs the business with his wife Yolanda, has brought in a workshop manager for the shop’s staff. The shop now has five staff members overseeing the project.
#AutismFriendly label
The name of El Sabio Alyxmer comes from the initials of Rubén’s family, made up of his wife, his four children and him. The former El Sabio Getafe was a pioneer within the brand for being the first to implement the #AutismFriendly label, a badge that certifies the premises is fully accessible for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
El Sabio Alyxmer also meets all the requirements of the Autism Friendly Club, the organisation that awards this badge: staff training, development of specific protocols and accessibility, including signage with
pictograms of the different areas of the store and a map of the environment available on the shop’s website.
How to join the project
El Sabio is a transformation project for local hardware stores that any business in the sector can join as a partner. This can be done by taking on the innovative image of El Sabio or by keeping the business’ own brand identity.
To date, 25 establishments have joined the El Sabio brand in 11 out of the 17 Spanish self-governing regions. The project also boasts over 200 partners nationwide — these shops have not taken on the El Sabio brand, as they already have a well-known image locally, but they benefit from many of the advantages and services that the project entails.
