The group arrives in the Mediterranean Basin with El Sabio González Cutillas, in Jumilla, and a great variety of agricultural machinery.

Ordes (A Coruña province), 17 October 2022.- Specialised service, excellent professionalism and outstanding customer care define El Sabio González Cutillas: the first shop opened by El Sabio in the Murcia region, and the Galician group’s 24th shop across Spain.

The store is located in Jumilla, the second-largest municipality in this autonomous region and the capital of the Denomination of Origin wine of the same name. Perhaps for this reason the shop was launched with the desire to win over customers with a wide array of tools and agricultural machinery, as the land is the town’s main economic driver.

With a team of 6 people, Josefina González manages the shop, covering almost 200 square metres, alongside her brother Roque and her father José Antonio, “the heart and soul of the business”. “We are closely linked to all things agricultural”, Josefina explains. She learnt her trade in the family business, which was founded 30 years ago and is now moving forwards with El Sabio, hoping to progress and not miss the boat in the future.

Advantages of digitalisation

For Josefina, one of the main benefits of the project is El Sabio’s ability to transform the business model of a classic hardware store, incorporating 21st-century technology into the whole process without compromising the essence that makes companies different and unique. “Factors such as having access to the advantages of an intranet, digitalisation and blending the online and offline worlds in a single business are very useful for us”, González says, praising the El Sabio logo as “extra added value”.

The shop’s location is another of its strong points: Jumilla is an important traffic hub between the Murcia region, Castille-La Mancha, Andalusia and the Levant. Moreover, aside from the town of Jumilla, with around 20,000 inhabitants, there are nine districts, including Fuente del Pino, La Zarza and Román.

Over 200 partners

To date, 24 stores have adopted the El Sabio brand in 11 of Spain’s 17 autonomous regions.

The project also boasts over 200 partners nationwide – these shops have not taken on the El Sabio brand, as they already have a well-known image locally, but they benefit from many of the advantages and services that the project entails.

Project benefits

For any shop wishing to join, El Sabio provides tools and resources to drive change, helping businesses to become more profitable and simply managed: services promoting digital transformation, consultancy and training; a complete package of marketing tools; access to exclusive brands; and a carefully-designed business image under the umbrella of a very robust, differentiating brand.

These services, combined with the values inherent to traditional hardware stores – such as recommendation, personalised customer service and advice – make this business model an unbeatable choice. It chooses to prioritise a distinctive shopping experience, whether in person or online, in a market full of large multinationals. A transformational project.
