The hardware shop chain strengthens its presence in this autonomous community with El Sabio Fidela, a shop in the town of Sariñena, the capital of Los Monegros.

Ordes (A Coruña), 17 September 2021 – An area of over 4000 m2 devoted to the world of hardware, gardening and horticulture is what defines the El Sabio Fidela, which has opened today in the town of Sariñena, the capital of Los Monegros (Huesca). The shop boasts a new image following its integration in hardware shop chain El Sabio and diversifies its business model with an area of 440 m2 exclusively for hardware products.

With this new opening in Huesca, the brand strengthens its presence in Aragon and takes yet another step in its ambitious national expansion plan. In fact, El Sabio Fidela is its second shop in this autonomous community – following the opening last July of El Sabio Mascoticas, in Zaragoza- thus becoming the tenth shop of the Galician group across Spain.

El Sabio is a commitment to the future and its business philosophy very much agrees with mine: doing things well”, remarks Raúl Pelegrín, the owner of the new shop, while he singles out the main draws of the business “the experience of the professionals and its closeness to our customers”. For this new undertaking, as well as the change in image and the increased exhibition space, the shop will have new opening hours. It will be intensive to adapt itself to customer demand. It will open from 0800 to 1900 hours, Monday to Friday and from 0830 to 1330 on Saturdays.

With the support of a 12-people team, Pelegrín, who has been in the gardening business for almost 20 years, has the support of his wife Marta and Hugo, his right hand, who has a deep knowledge of the hardware sector.

The location of the shop is another strength of El Sabio Fidela as Sariñena, with a population of over 4,000 inhabitants, is strategically located. It is an hour’s drive from Zaragoza and Lleida and a mere 40 minute-drive from Huesca. “Besides – Raúl points out- this is the capital of Los Monegros”, an area that includes a number of small towns totalling a population of 15,000 inhabitants.

El Sabio started in 2020 with its first brick-and-mortar shops in A Coruña. Today it can be found in 6 autonomous communities: Galicia, Asturias, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad de Madrid and Aragon and has nine further shops: Agrosilva and A Botica do Agro (A Coruña), Saínza (Ourense), Roces Belón (Langreo, Asturias), Ferrex and Antonio Mena (Badajoz), Cherjos (Puebla de Almoradiel, Toledo), Getafe (Getafe, Madrid) and Mascoticas (Zaragoza).

The operation is part of an innovative business strategy driven by Galician group Internaco, which wishes to promote the model of traditional ironmonger’s shops by transforming the business into new purchasing experiences and establishing a strong network of locally involved shops to compete unashamedly in the 21th century, overrun by the depersonalization of multinationals.

Recommending products and providing customized attention are the hallmarks of the brand as well as a commitment to all things local as opposed to global approaches. “Today consumers feel lost either because they are unable to find what they are looking for or because they quite don’t know what they need, or it is hard for them to understand how to use a product correctly” a spokesperson for the company explains “The company stands out for providing a different buying, omnichannel experience with its own brands: Orework for non-powered tools and Kuril for powered tools, as well as other leading brands.

Its latest operations include an exclusive sales agreement with Ryobi and the purchase of Ferreglobal, the distributor in Spain and Portugal for the tool brand Truper and its associate brands.

While the expansion process of the brick-and-mortar shops is underway, El Sabio makes all the expertise of local ironmongers available to its customers in its website at www.elsabio.eu
