Ordes (A Coruña), 9 September 2021- Hardware shop chain El Sabio has taken another step in its strategy of becoming a reference in the sector of the hardware industry with the purchase of Ferreglobal (Distribuidora Ferreglobal, S.L.), the distributor of tool brand Truper and its associate brands in Spain and Portugal. The operation is part of the ambitious expansion plan of the Galician brand, which in less than a year has opened nine shops in Spain and intends to end 2021 with some twenty shops open.
Distribuidora Ferreglobal was created with the challenge of creating value for its partners, customers, and suppliers, thus becoming a leading distributor in the traditional hardware industry in the Iberian Peninsula through the development and marketing of the brand Truper and its associate brands.

Truper, the world’s largest manufacturer of spades and wheelbarrows
Truper is currently the leader in the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of tools and products for all segments of the hardware sector and an industry giant as its numbers show . Its catalogue includes over 12,000 products. It is the world’s largest manufacturer of spades, picks, mallets and, generally speaking, long-handled tools. The brand also boasts an impressive industrial structure in constant expansion, which comprises 20 manufacturing plants with capacity to make, among other products, 12 million spades a year, 250,000 hammers a month and over 11,000 wheelbarrows a day.
“With this purchase we not only seek to boost the growth of the brand Truper in Spain and Portugal, but we also aim at strengthening the presence of El Sabio in the hardware industry by promoting the activity through a very comprehensive and competitive range of products”, explains Rubén Rodríguez, the director of El Sabio.

El Sabio started in 2020 with its first brick-and-mortar shops in A Coruña. Today, with nine shops open, it can be found in 6 autonomous communities: Galicia, Asturias, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad de Madrid and Aragon.
