The chain opens El Sabio Coristanco in Bergantiños (A Coruña), its 23rd establishment in Spain.

Ordes (A Coruña), 18 September 2022 – El Sabio continues to grow in Spain and, as part of its expansion plan, has once again chosen Galicia to cement its position as the leading chain in the local hardware shop sector. They have done so by opening El Sabio Coristanco, a shop with a display area of more than 350 m2 located in one of the wealthiest areas of the province of A Coruña, the region of Bergantiños.

The shop is the seventh that the brand has opened in the Galician community and becomes the 23rd “sabio” in Spain. The shop is located in the town of Coristanco, which is famous for growing some of the country’s finest potatoes. This Sunday’s inauguration of the shop coincided with one of the most important events in the area: the Potato Festival, which every year brings together thousands of people in this well-known municipality in A Coruña.

Antonio Riveiro is at the helm of El Sabio Coristanco. He is the soul of the shop, leading a team of three people and has a wealth of experience in the agricultural machinery sector.

“The image is sensational”

Antonio decided to diversify the business he has been running for years and to take a step further with El Sabio as he was aware of the importance of offering new services to an increasingly demanding clientele.  The result is called El Sabio Coristanco, a new shop with a “groundbreaking and sensational” image, explains Riveiro, who confesses that the opening of the premises, located right in the centre, has caused great excitement among the locals.

Only five kilometres from Carballo, the capital of Bergantiños, El Sabio Coristanco has opened its doors with the aspiration of becoming the leading hardware, home, rural and garden shop in the region. “We are just a step away from Carballo, an urban centre with 20,000 inhabitants, and we are confident of covering the needs of the whole region”, says Riveiro with respect to Bergantiños, where more than 60,000 people live.

The establishment has a wide range of products on sale, almost 6,000 items, and has a wide range of agricultural materials and tools, although household goods and hardware and garden products are also some of its strengths.

Promoting local trade

Making small shops big, but without losing their essence by spreading values such as experience and proximity, are the hallmarks of El Sabio, which began its journey in 2020 with the aim of transforming this business model by identifying its needs and adapting it to the requirements demanded by 21st century society.

Since then, the strategy of the chain, created by the Internaco Group, has been based on growth and differentiation in a market where the strong presence of multinationals threatened to do away with the traditional hardware stores, a model for which El Sabio is the standard-bearer.

In addition to its commitment to proximity and 100% personalised service, El Sabio stands out for its modern and attractive image and unique range of products. It has two of its own brands (Orework and Kuril) and other top brands such as Ryobi, for which it has exclusive sales. It has also integrated Ferreglobal, representative of Truper and its subsidiary brands for Spain and Portugal.
