The brand lands in the province of Granada with a store in Montefrío, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Andalusia.

Ordes (A Coruña) 31 May 2022.- The hardware, DIY, home and garden chain El Sabio has just opened its third shop in Andalusia, namely in Granada, a province in which the company is making its debut with an establishment in Montefrío, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Andalusian region.

The new shop is called El Sabio and is the brand’s 21st nationwide and the third to open its doors in Andalusia after the opening of El Sabio ElNanta (Almeria) last April.

Considered one of the seven wonders of Granada, Montefrío has around 5,000 inhabitants and a huge tourist attraction due to its beauty, which achieved worldwide fame when National Geographic chose this town as one of the best places in the world to visit in 2022.

In this fairytale village, 26-year-old María Torres runs El Sabio with her father Alfonso and brother Jorge Manuel. The shop, located in the main square, is in line with the brand’s philosophy of promoting family businesses, traditional DIY hardware retailers. It is a small shop with a wide range of products. “We have a good warehouse and in a few months we will open a much larger establishment on the outskirts”, says María.

Household and agricultural machinery

The location, right in the heart of the town, is essential for the operation of a business that has come to Montefrío to fill a gap. “Years ago there was a hardware store, but right now there was nothing,” explains María. In principle, the absence of hardware stores in the area will greatly determine the range on offer: “We have a product line very focused on the home, but without forgetting that we are in an agricultural area specialised in olive and asparagus cultivation”, explained María Torres.

It was precisely being able to meet this demand that encouraged the Torres family to join the El Sabio project. “We knew the brand through Internaco,” explains María Torres, who values the “proximity, advice and support” offered by the group. “They help you a lot in the business. You don’t feel alone,” she said.

Personalised customer service

Personalised customer service and advice are two of the hallmarks of the El Sabio brand, which was created to counteract depersonalisation. After starting its journey in 2020 and opening its first shop in 2021, with this opening in Granada El Sabio breaks the barrier of 20 establishments in Spain following a strategy designed to grow and differentiate itself in a very depersonalised market due to the presence of multinationals.

The group has two of its own brands (Orework and Kuril) as well as other top brands such as Ryobi, for which it has exclusive sales. It has also integrated Ferreglobal, which represents Truper and its subsidiary brands in Spain and Portugal.

Present in ten autonomous communities

El Sabio is currently present in ten of the 17 autonomous communities: Galicia, Asturias, Andalusia, Aragon, the Basque Country, Navarre, Castile and Leon, Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura and the Community of Madrid.
