Ordes (A Coruña), 5 July 2021.- The hardware, DIY, home, country and garden chain El Sabio has opened its first store in the region of Madrid, located in a shopping centre in Getafe, Getafe 3 Retail Centre. The store is the seventh opened in Spain by the company as part of an ambitious national expansion process.

El Sabio Getafe is located at the Getafe 3 Retail Centre, with 750 m2 of sales floor. Owners Raúl Rincón and Sandra Hernández are thrilled to be starting out on this new adventure, alongside a team of six highly experienced professionals in hardware, gardening and DIY.

“The response has really been very good,” explained Raúl from the store, which despite opening for business on 29 June, will be holding a special inauguration on the 16th of this month. The mayoress of Getafe, Sara Hernández, will be in attendance.

The position of El Sabio Getafe, in the Sector 3 district – a residential area with over 25,000 single-family homes, is reflected in the product range on offer. “We specialise in household goods, gardening, barbecues…” continued Raúl Rincón, who admits that the decision to work with El Sabio was largely due the brand concept. “We really liked the image from the outset. It is so different from other stores in the sector,” he added.

Seventh store in Spain

“El Sabio” was launched in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 crisis with its first physical stores in Galicia, two in A Coruña (El Sabio Agrosilva y El Sabio A Botica do Agro) and another in Ourense (El Sabio Saínza). The firm also has a store in Langreo, Asturias (El Sabio Roces Belón), one in Badajoz, Extremadura (El Sabio Ferrex) and another in Puebla de Almoradiel, Toledo (El Sabio Cherjos). El Sabio Getafe is therefore the seventh business to open under this brand in Spain.

This expansion process is part of a new business strategy driven by the Galician group Internaco, which is aiming to reinforce the traditional hardware store model by transforming these businesses into new shopping experiences and setting up a solid network of stores with a local focus ready to compete strongly on the 21st century market, so saturated with the depersonalisation of large multinational firms.

Over the coming weeks, further El Sabio stores will be opened in places such as Valdivia (Badajoz). As the chain continues to expand its network of physical stores, El Sabio also offers all the expertise of local professionals to its clients via its website: www.elsabio.eu

Customer care: personalised assistance and advice

“El Sabio” was created to  provide solutions to both consumers and local hardware professionals, supporting them in the process of transforming their own businesses so that small firms -and therefore consumers- are never left alone, particularly at times as difficult as we are currently experiencing.

The personalised recommendations, attention and advice are the distinguishing features of the brand, but above all, a firm bet on a local, rather than a global approach. “El Sabio” aims to be the antithesis of depersonalisation. “At the moment the consumer feels lost, because they either can’t find what they are looking for, they don’t know exactly what they need or they find it difficult to understand how to use a product properly,” says the firm, which stands out for offering a new, single-channel shopping experience, with its own brands; Orework for manual machines and Kuril for engine-operated equipment, as well as other top-level brands.
